26 Mar ZOOM Remotes
Like Shaky Cam, Web-Safe Colors, and IG Filters before it, ZOOM Remotes are a thing now. For FlowTown it’s an opportunity to add remote footage to our documentary filmmaking when we can’t send crews to a location.
We’ve been incorporating ZOOM remote-recordings in our documentaries for some time now. And while there are clearly quality issues to overcome (and we have a few tricks to make that happen) it’s gotten to be much more widely accepted as a viable source of footage. Looking to a future beyond our shared-condition fighting COVID-19, the look of remote video will remain part of our repertoire.
Hey Pixite is a series we produced for Pixite, the creators of the Pigment coloring app and Assembly vector design app. In the series we wanted to talk with artists from around the globe. Using ZOOM let us accomplish that.
Welcome To Pixite
Hey Pixite Example Mark a sculptor and Assembly artist, was our first interview. He really helped us kick off the project in a positive way.
Hey Pixite Series All of the wonderful and amazing humans, artists, and new friends we met and featured in the series are showcased here. (10 videos)
By combining the remote-footage with in-person interviews, easily digested titling, b-roll and cut-aways, and incorporating user-generated content, our intent was to produce a final product that’s lively and engaging.
Take a minute to visit Pixite to check out their mobile design and coloring apps, they are addictive and fun, even for non-design professionals.
AND we have a guide to user-generated-content here.
